Stage 1 Bike Service

All bikes that are booked in to our workshop received a Proper Bike Shop 51 point Bike Check - free of charge! This determines exactly what state your bike is in, what needs work, and if there are any parts that may need replacing.

The Stage 1 Service is ideal for bikes less than a year old or older bikes that have not been used much, this service is a great way to ensure your bike is ready for the rigours of the road or trail!

Stage 1 Service includes:

1. Both derailleurs indexed and aligned
2. Straighten rear derailleur hanger
3. Transmission checked for wear and damage; chain and derailleurs lubricated
4. Both brakes set up and centred
5. All cables adjusted
6. Both hubs checked and any play eliminated
7. Both wheels trued
8. Tyres checked for wear and inflated to recommended pressure
9. Headset checked and any play eliminated
10. Steering aligned and checked
11. Frame and forks checked for condition; seat post greased and re-inserted
12. All nuts and bolts tightened to the manufacturers torque recommendation
13. Wipe down of frame and wheels

If during the course of the service you require any parts fitting or cables replacing, an additional labour charge is incurred for fitting of parts, and the parts costs are also additional. 

We can also carry out a full bike clean using professional workshop products and techniques which is charged at £55, and cleaning of transmission only can also be carried out for £30.
